Thought for the Day/Week

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/WEEK:

"In my view, the Christian religion is most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

~Noah Webster- preface to 1828 Dictionary~

July- Spending time with family part 2...THE FAMILY VACATION BEGINS

Early on Saturday, July 10th, we loaded up the van and took one last picture before leaving.
Destination: Charlotte NC, for Kevin Chaney's wedding. (with a few stops along the way) Samuel comes out to say goodbye- He and Daniel had to stay behind for a few days to attend their college classes, and work. They flew to Charlotte later that week.
It is a good thing we had a luggage rack! Not only have we downsized our van, but we had to take 5 instruments with us! (they got the inside storage space)
Mom- loves to organize. The itinerary was set, but flexibility proved to be the case.
We drove east, through the flint-hills- Only the first of many beautiful land formations that we saw as we crossed this vast country.
Our father owns the cattle on a thousand hills
With bathroom breaks, meals etc. the trip to our first stop, Kentucky, took about 15 hours.
Dan and Rebecca's family followed in a rental car.
We went through Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Ohio...
and Indiana, before reaching Kentucky.
We stopped to eat...a welcome relief for all of us.
The tourists enjoying dinner.
More exhausted tourists.
Finally...the beds we've all been waiting for!
Lunch at Taco Bell the next day.
This was the first day of the trip. The next post will show an overview of the "Answers in Genesis Creation Science Museum"...for those of you who have thought of visiting, as well as those who have never heard of it before.
