Thought for the Day/Week

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/WEEK:

"In my view, the Christian religion is most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

~Noah Webster- preface to 1828 Dictionary~

July- Spending time with family part 3- THE CREATION SCIENCE MUSEUM- PETERSBURG, KENTUCKY

On the first day of our family vacation, we visited the "Answers In Genesis Creation Science Museum" in Kentucky. It is the only museum of its kind. I'm posting some of the content of this museum in hopes that some of you may visit one day.
The reason this museum has come into existence is because there are many Christians who have bought into a lie, unique to our time. Throughout history, mankind has tried to destroy the Word of God, and today is no different; No different except that it is now the Church, God's own people, who are unknowingly unraveling the very fabric of our faith...the foundation of the Word of God, which places doubt on its ability to be believed and trusted.
Our family arrived at the museum on Sunday afternoon.
We had heard about this museum since it was just an idea in the mind of Mr. Ken Ham.
We were anxious to see it.Upon entering the front doors, it appeared to be much like a natural science museum.

The dinosaurs roaring and moving was quite a thrill!

"Mommy, I'm scared! make those giant monsters go away!" The younger children were provided with some hands-on activities. touching a real dinosaur fossil!
There were plants and animals to observe with teaching material that explained how they defy evolutionary theories.

We began the tour by viewing 2 scientists excavating the same artifacts, one from the perspective of Evolution, and the other of Creation. Each of them has "presuppositions" which give them the basis of their findings. One believes the Word of God is absolute truth, the other believes that nature itself, not God, has an explanation for all of science.
These presuppositions are explained clearly in the next section... Though we view the same world, the same facts, our conclusions differ based on what we believe about the foundation, or beginning of all things. Here, we have Isaiah, Moses and David- men of faith through whom God spoke to reveal His Law to mankind. We have the proofs of the Old Testament prophesies.
In order to understand God's eternal plan, we have to go back to the beginning...

Creation. The next exhibits dealt with the Biblical account of creation. Charity! Don't feed the dinosaurs!!!
As we followed the exhibits, we came to a "6 day theater"...
...where we watched a recreation of the Biblical account of the creation of the World, and all that is in it.
After creation came...

Corruption: Sin entered the world through disobedience to God's command...
And death resulted.
The curse; among which...man would now have to work to sustain himself, and woman would have pain in childbearing.
Murder...
Animals were now no longer docile...because sin had corrupted the whole earth.
Which leads to the next phase...the Catastrophe! Here is where much of creation science's evidence diverges from evolutionary theories...
Noah, and the flood.
God commanded Noah to build an ark.
God repented that he had made man, and was grieved by their utter corruption.
He sent a world-wide flood, where waters not only burst from above (the firmament), but broke forth from below the earth as well.
All living things were destroyed except aquatic life, and those in the ark...a picture of Christ's salvation that He would provide in the future.
Man would once again inhabit the earth, and God gave His promise to never again destroy the earth with a flood. This is a life-sized replica of Noah, equipped with a screen on which one can ask questions. It appeared that he was actually speaking his answers! In the museum, there are many artifacts and fossils which support this account of the flood, but due to man's unbelief in a sovereign and holy God, they instead have chosen to explain these findings through the "Millions of Years" theory...as opposed to a world-wide catastrophe, such as the Biblical account of the world-wide flood.
The next phase of the museum concerns how mankind separated into nations with differing languages. This phase is entitled "Confusion". This event occurred in the Biblical account of the Tower of Babel...mankind dispersed because of language barriers, and went in different directions, eventually forming tribes and nations.
The next phase is Christ- the 2nd Adam- Jesus Christ, who came to redeem us from the sinful state...
Through His sacrifice on our behalf...bringing forgiveness of sin- imputing His righteousness upon us. This is a replica of the Apostle Paul, as he pens the New Testament under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The final phase has yet to come- the consummation- when God will remake His creation, and cast out death and disobedience.
These 7 C's represent a Biblical timeline...the course of history, as recorded in the Holy Scriptures.God's Holy Word has undergone one attack after another throughout history.
Martin Luther- "Here I stand, I can do no other"...refuting the attack on God's Word in His day.
Court trials, removing the Bible and God from classrooms, government, and other societal institutions, losing one religious right after another.
But ultimately, it is the church that has compromised its own beliefs, by trying to line up God's Word with the wisdom, understanding, philosophies and theories of this fallen world- instead of the absolute truths found in God's Word.
The "millions of years" theory is the modern-day attack that we must battle. It has crumbled the very foundation of our churches, by taking our generation and placing doubts and humanistic concepts into the minds of our children, college students, AND CHURCHES, concerning Biblically valid facts; those which we cannot conceive in our finite minds.
As this section of the museum points out- These irrefutible facts are clearly seen in creation, so that we are without excuse. We have been duped in our society and schools to believe...
God did not breath into man a living soul...different from the animals...each after its own kind.
After considering these things, we realized that once again, mankind has endevoured to usurp God, by placing his own intellect above God's Infallible Word. We were then able to read and see video concerning various scientific experiments that support Biblical science more than the evolutionary theories. Once we reached the final theater on the tour portion of the museum, we recapped the teachings from scripture, placing emphasis this time on the need to put our trust in Christ as Savior and Lord. RIDE 'EM COWBOY!! All of this teaching is exhausting!dear...I mean, deer She was able to bear with us through the whole tour!
I'm just burning up over these lies we've been taught!! (it isn't really fire)
We went through the bookstore while we were waiting for the stargazer planetarium presentation.
(they also have toys....)
A tired group of tourists
Getting ready for the "Stargazer Planetarium" under the dome!
Exploring the far reaches of our galaxy, and recognizing the awsomeness of our infinite God!
ready for liftoff!
(we were actually not permitted to take any pictures in here, but we recommend it highly!)
We also went to "Men in White", which was a fun-filled adventure theater, complete with splashing water, and rumbling/moving seats! It was a unique experience taking us through the account of the creation, fall, flood and current day falsehoods. We REALLY enjoyed it; but Esther wondered..."uh no water"!
Although we did not eat here, they had a little Cafe in the building, as well as a snack bar, for those who might need it.
We were able to spend a little time in the gardens...with 6000 species of plantlife, including some which are carnivorous!!
It is a beautiful setting.

So we took some photos
2 sweet young ladies
I hope this post has whet your appetite to visit the Creation Science Museum someday, and to possibly rethink how important it is to take God at His Word.
