Thought for the Day/Week

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/WEEK:

"In my view, the Christian religion is most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

~Noah Webster- preface to 1828 Dictionary~

Labor day get-together

We celebrated Labor Day this year with a group of friends from church.
Here, some of the girls are filling out a "20 questions" questionair, in order to learn more about each other. These were later read, and after hearing the answers, we guessed who might have written that sheet.
After a mid-morning brunch, we had a water balloon toss using teams of 2 holding towels.

This game is called "pass the plate". Almost everyone got at least a little wet in this game.
"I have to refill the plate!"
STEADY!
Oops, I dumped the water all over you!
One of the little Busenitz boys found Charity's "Daniel Boone" supplies.
Another game that we all enjoyed...at least we enjoyed watching...
was the cotton ball on the nose game.
It's a team effort
Go Brent!
CUTE
Here, the girls are trying to build the most creative and rhyming poem.
Another enjoyable "outdoor water" game, was wringing out the rag over the dads' heads.

filling the cup
oops- I missed!
squeeeeeeeze the rag on Samuel's head!
(chuckle)

Once the games were complete, we had a lunch-supper of hamburgers, hot dogs and fixins.
Time with Christian friends is precious.
It was so nice to take a break from our daily routines, and have some good, clean family fun.
