Thought for the Day/Week

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/WEEK:

"In my view, the Christian religion is most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

~Noah Webster- preface to 1828 Dictionary~

July- keeping busy

The girls had taken a clip of Daniel and Amanda's Harp and Cello duet in Garnett. I thought I'd pass it along.
Our family has met new and exciting challenges in the month of July. Travel and vacation weren't our only activities.
HANNAH'S NEW PASSION: TRAINING HORSESHannah has long had the desire to work with horses...which obviously wasn't something with which our family was equipped. However, she spent time studying books and internet sites concerning horse training. After years of prayer, God has opened her first opportunity.

Hannah has spent a few hours on Thursdays this summer at the home of Desiree Entz, and they have been working together to train one of their horses.

One of their first jobs was to separate the horse from its mother. It wasn't happy with the change.
Eventually, the girls were able to calm him down...
... and put a bridle on him.

One day, Hannah took Emmi with her. She enjoyed the new surroundings.

Hannah loves this new and exciting adventure.

We are thankful to God for providing this extraordinary opportunity for Hannah.

"Day's end"
"Sunset on the Prairie"
This photo has been entered in a photography competition. Hannah submitted it in the catagory "A blessing in disguise". It depicts time being short, and God teaching us to number our days.
Samuel's great passion this summer (besides summer classes) has been improving his bowling score and spin.
bowling with friends (Just another opportunity to take pictures)
He has taken several groups to the bowling alley with his "summer savings card". Each of them can bowl for $.49 per game.
The girls enjoyed their outing together.
"Are we at a bowling alley?" Samuel also took his sisters...
I think they just enjoyed being on a date with Samuel!
As August approaches, we are beginning to settle into a new schedule, and classes will begin soon. I'm looking forward to more structure to our days!
