Since Rebecca's birthday falls during the Christmas and New Years holidays, we usually try to plan something after things have settled.
This year, we invited a few young couples who also have young children, and treated them to a nice dinner together.
Our older kids helped to watch the younger children so the parents could visit.
After dinner, we were treated to a "chalk talk" by Wilferd Theissen. As he drew the picture, he spoke of the need to trust God, even when the floods come over us.

The older girls were fascinated by the drawing. Sarah made her famous "chocolate truffle cake" for dessert.
