Thought for the Day/Week

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY/WEEK:

"In my view, the Christian religion is most important and one of the first things in which all children, under a free government ought to be instructed...No truth is more evident to my mind than that the Christian religion must be the basis of any government intended to secure the rights and privileges of a free people."

THE GRADUATION

Samuel's graduation began with 1/2 hour of prelude music provided by the 3 graduates and their siblings.
A lovely hymn arrangement of "This is My Father's World".
string quartet- "Brethren We Have Met to Worship"
A bluegrass rendition of "Foggy Mountain Breakdown"
The actual program began with the fathers welcoming our guests ...
and praying for the service.
Samuel and Rebecca sang the solo and duet parts on "At Any Cost".
I was honored to be asked by the graduates to direct the 5 choral pieces that they had selected.
After a video presentation that Hannah had put together for the graduation, Samuel shared a few comments and thank yous to those who had impacted his life.
His father and I joined him on the stage, Chris exhorted Samuel to continue to develop the qualities of service, and to invest in the lives of others, then awarded him with his diploma.
Dad, Mom and Samuel
The ensemble did a superb job with a wide variety of styles of choral music.
The Mendelssohn Sextet for strings and piano
Each graduate selected a man to pray for him and his future during the ceremony. Samuel chose our pastor, John Prigge.
James and Amanda played a piano and harp duet- I'd Rather Have Jesus.
After the last song, "The Lord Bless Thee and Keep Thee", which was written by Rebecca for Samuel for his graduation, Chris closed in prayer, and the graduates left the sanctuary.

The graduates are officially finished with all of their high school studies. Samuel, we are proud of you and the man that you've become. God bless you, and we love you.
