Just to throw her off of the "surpise plans", Anna took Hannah out for lunch on her birthday, not telling her of the party that would follow on Friday evening.
That day, she was told that they were going to Rebecca's to prepare some meals for the freezer; But when they got close to the intersection, they made a last minute detour to the Gordon Busenitz home.

Several of the girls from church had ridden their horses over to the Busenitz home, and awaited Hannah's arrival for an afternoon and evening of riding and a campfire.
They had to "fetch" the horses.
